A List of my Favorite Books

The Lord Of The Rings
by J.R.R. Tolkien
A must read for anyone who loves elves, dwarves, wizards and heroes. This story has it all, good vs evil, love and war, friendship and betrayal. It is a book that I cherish as a reader and study as an artist.

Across The Nightingale Floor
by Lian Hearn
I never heard of Lian Hearn when I decided to read this book. I chose it because I liked the art on the cover. She is now one of my favorite authors. I was so moved by the story that I found myself crying at the death of one of the main characters. I love this book.

The Dark Tower
by Stephen King
The conclusion to one of the greatest series of books I have ever read. The previous six books in the Dark Tower Series were so good that I approached reading this book with a very real fear that it would never meet my expectations. That fear dissipated after the first few pages and was completely gone by the last printed word.

The Vampire Lestat
by Anne Rice
This is the book that began my love for reading. I can read this book over and over and never get tired of the story. I urge anyone who has not read this book to pick it up. This is Anne Rice at her best and features what I consider her greatest character. Trust me, Lestat is dying for you to fall in love with him.

Dune
by Frank Herbert
Amazing.  This story and the story that continues in the following 5 books in the series are beyond words.  The story is told through complex plots and intrigue but with a very simple and basic message.  This book changed my life.  A work of Pure Genius.

The Elfstones of Shannara
by Terry Brooks
This story is so good, you could take any one of the subplot storylines and make a great novel.  The characters contained within the pages of this book are some of the most endearing and memorable in the entire Fantasy genre.

Hawkmoon
by Michael Moorcock
Adventure! Adventure!  If you love fast paced, high action stories, then this is the book for you.  I thoroughly enjoyed this classic story of "good vs evil" or "Chaos vs Law" from beginning to end.  The main character Hawkmoon remains one of my favorite incarnations of the "Eternal Champion".

The Demon Awakens
by RA Salvatore
